Condition: Very Good -The text is bright, clean, and unmarked with tight, sound binding. The boards have light edgewear with scuffing at corners and the head and tail of the spine. The lettering lightly faded. The book has illustrated endpapers and speckled foredges. The previous owner's is inscribed on the front endpaper and table of contents.
The American Woman's Cook Book is replete with hundreds of black and white, and colour photographs and illustrations. Page edges feature thumb indents that divide the book into sections. The book contains over 10,000 recipes and went to many printings of many editions. Among collectors of vintage cookbooks, this is one of the staples in every collector's collection. It is on par with Betty Crocker's Cook Book or Joy of Cooking in the sense that it is a classic cookbook, loaded from beginning to end with recipes for all sorts of American dishes.
