Shipping Policies

Shipping fees are calculated by a shipping service at checkout. Shipping fees are determined by the cumulative weight in kilograms of all items in your shopping bag, plus the weight of shipping packaging. The shipping weight for each book is available in the Publishing Details section of each title. 

Standard Shipping Rates
All standard shipping fees to addresses in Canada and internationally are calculated at checkout.

Shipping Promotion
The free shipping promotion is applied at checkout when your order exceeds $40.00 CDN after any other discounts. Shipping is usually handled by Canada Post; however, during a postal strike, we ship via Purolator or UPS.

The free shipping promotion is only applicable to addresses in the following provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. Other addresses are excluded.

Oversized Surcharge

 

If your purchases qualify for the free shipping promotion described above, please note the following surcharges for oversized products:

 

- A surcharge of $6.95 will be applied to each title weighing more than 1.2 kg.

- A surcharge of $10.95 will be applied to each title weighing more than 2 kg.

 

These charges are indicated in the description of each oversized title.


Free Local Pick-up 
Free local pick-up of purchases is available only in Ottawa, Canada. Pick-up is available at Doyon Després (formerly Chef’s Paradise), a retail store located at 1314 Bank Street. Select the free local pick-up option at checkout to use this service. Pick-up hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Holidays excepted. 

Doyon Després is a pickup-only location. Retail associates cannot answer inquiries regarding Domestic Bliss Lifestyle Books and Essentials either products or purchases. Please get in touch with info@dbliss.ca with any questions.

Order Processing
All orders are processed for shipping within business days. Orders are not shipped on weekends or statutory holidays. If there is a delay in shipping your order, we will contact you via email as soon as possible. 

Canada Post Delivery Standards   
Delivery standards are based on normal delivery conditions and are subject to change without notice. The Canada Post on-time delivery guarantee may be modified during peak periods or suspended due to causes beyond Canada Post’s reasonable control. For service updates, visit canadapost.ca/notice. 

The Canada Post’s standard delivery times from Ottawa, Canada:

  • 3 to 9 business days for British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, based on the service selected at checkout.
  • 8 to 14 business days for the Northwest Territories, Yukon, Nunavut, Newfoundland and Labrador, based on the service selected at checkout. 
  • 3 to 7 business days for locations within the United States, depending on the service selected at checkout.  

Shipment Confirmation & Order Tracking 
You will receive a Shipment Confirmation email once your order has been shipped, including a tracking number. The tracking number will generally be active within 24 hours of receiving the email.

Damage 
Domestic Bliss Lifestyle Books and Essentials is not liable for any products damaged or lost during shipping. If you received your order damaged, please don’t hesitate to contact CanadaPost or the carrier to file a claim. Please save all packaging materials and damaged goods when filing a claim.
