In the fall of 1957 at a maritime home economics conference, Helen Crocker presented the idea of a book of New Brunswick recipes that would include the promotion of New Brunswick products. It was agreed at the beginning of this project it would benefit home economic students in the form of a scholarship.
The recipes in Taste of New Brunswick are gathered from the members of the Home Economics Association and contains many recipes for Acadian and Maritime cooking.
