Duane Hanson is a catalogue of an exhibition held at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts from Feb. 3 to May 1, 1994.  This catalogue presents the captivating work of Duane Hanson (1925-1996), acknowledged as one of the 20th century's preeminent sculptors. His first sculptures were produced during the turbulent 1960s and reflected the era's social and political climate. By 1970, Hanson had developed his style of portraying American "types" -- shoppers, tourists, children, workmen, and businessmen. Hanson’s sculptures helped pave the way for the late-20th-century movement later identified as Mannequin Art.
