In the fall of 1957, at a maritime home economics conference, Helen Crocker presented the idea of a book of New Brunswick recipes that would also promote New Brunswick products. It was agreed at the beginning of this project that it would benefit home economics students through a scholarship.
The recipes in Taste of New Brunswick are gathered from members of the Home Economics Association and include many for Acadian and Maritime cooking.
