Canadian Cook Book for British Brides was compiled for distribution to war brides arriving in Canada from the British Isles and was issued by the Division of Women’s Voluntary Services and produced in collaboration with the Consumer Sections of the Wartime Information Board and the Department of Agriculture. This cook book assisted British women with cooking and food preparation of a Canadian meal that was distinctly different from meals prepared at home in Britain.
"A practical form of welcome to the Canadian way of life is this little book...includes a wealth of information such as recipes, the kinds of meals Canadians eat, measurements and the types of meat available. It is hoped you fill find it a real help."
