Gastronomic Cheers from the Volunteers begins with the history of the Victorian Order of Nurses (V.O.N.) in Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Quebec by Phyllis C. Abbott with an excerpt from an address by T.R. Lee, Board Member of the Historical Society of Bout de l'Isle, on the occasion of the formal opening of Au Petit Café, June 1966. The Café was located in the historic Simon Fraser House on Ste. Anne Street to support the efforts of the V.O.N. About 200 recipes are included with contributors' names.
